Are your shoes stinking up your bedroom? Embarrassed to take your shoes off around others? Here are some easy and effective ways to stop your shoes from smelling. Absorb the odor with baking soda. Mix half a cup of baking soda and half a cup of cornstarch, pour the mixture into two cotton socks and tie a knot. Then, place a sock into each of your shoes and leave for 24 hours. You can neutralize the bacteria in your shoes with vinegar. Mix distilled white vinegar and water and spray on the inside of your shoes. Be careful not to get the mixture on the outside of the shoes as the vinegar could cause discoloration. Practice good foot hygiene to keep them from smelling. If you’re prone to athlete’s foot, use anti-fungal products. Wear your socks only once before washing them and rotate your shoes to avoid wearing the same pair every day. Also, choose breathable shoe materials to allow your feet to breathe.
